Sunshine Cleaning tells the story of a family in Albuquerque, consisting of Rose and Norah, who lost their mother at a young age.
Rose, a responsible housecleaner, is raising her seven-year-old son Oscar while having an affair with Mac, a married cop and her high-school sweetheart.
Norah struggles to hold down a job, while their quirky dad, Joe, adds to the family dynamic.
When Oscar is expelled from school, Rose decides to earn enough money to send him to private school.
Mac suggests a unique business idea - cleaning up crime scenes, suicides, and undiscovered deaths.
Rose enlists Norah, and Sunshine Cleaners is born.
Norah forms a bond with the deceased, while Rose discovers the challenges of running a regulated business.
As complications arise, the family must navigate their past tragedies and work together to find a resolution.
