Synopsis

A big-hearted community celebrates life in the face of death. Description Set against the stunning backdrop of the coastal industrial town of Port Kembla, an energetic and resilient community group has decided to take back the responsibility most of us leave to someone else: caring for their own dead. Scattered throughout are stories that go to the core and reveal why this small band has decided to take up a practice that to most is taboo. As their plans for community funerals gain momentum, one of their own is diagnosed with a fatal disease. Tender is both a heartbreakingly beautiful and beautifully funny vision of an extraordinary community coming to grips with one of the most essential challenges of human life...its end.
