Synopsis

The Cannonball Run is a 1981 action comedy film directed by Hal Needham. The film follows a group of eccentric characters who participate in an illegal cross-country race from Connecticut to California.

The race is organized by a wealthy sheik who offers a cash prize to the winner. The participants include a pair of bumbling con artists, a doctor and a paramedic posing as a priest and a nun, a Japanese team driving a high-tech car, and a pair of women disguised as men.

As the race progresses, the competitors face various obstacles and challenges, including police chases, rival racers, and mechanical failures. Along the way, they form unlikely alliances and develop friendships, all while trying to outsmart each other and reach the finish line first.
