The Cannonball Run is a 1981 action comedy film directed by Hal Needham. The film follows a group of eccentric characters who participate in an illegal cross-country race from Connecticut to California.
The race is organized by a wealthy sheik who offers a cash prize to the winner. The participants include a pair of bumbling con artists, a doctor and a paramedic posing as a priest and a nun, a Japanese team driving a high-tech car, and a pair of women disguised as men.
