Synopsis

The Chosen is a novel by Chaim Potok that tells the story of two Jewish boys, Reuven Malter and Danny Saunders, who come from different backgrounds but form a deep friendship. Set in Brooklyn, New York during the aftermath of World War II, the novel explores themes of religion, tradition, and the struggle between individuality and community.
