Synopsis

Colonia is a historical drama film set in Chile during the 1973 military coup. The story follows a young couple, Lena and Daniel, who become entangled in the violent political upheaval. When Daniel is abducted by the secret police, Lena joins a cult-like religious community called Colonia Dignidad in order to rescue him.

Under the control of the enigmatic leader, Paul Schäfer, Colonia Dignidad is revealed to be a sinister place where dissent is not tolerated and brutal punishments are meted out. Lena must navigate this dangerous environment and find a way to save Daniel before it's too late.

Colonia is a gripping tale of love, sacrifice, and resilience in the face of tyranny. Emma Watson and Daniel Brühl deliver powerful performances that bring this harrowing true story to life.
