Furthermore, the repetitive nature of the musical themes in The Hitcher became monotonous and predictable, failing to add depth or emotional resonance to the characters' harrowing experiences. Instead of enhancing the psychological tension of the narrative, the soundtrack fell short in capturing the full intensity of Jim's desperate struggle for survival.

The choice of music in The Hitcher often felt out of place and distracting, taking away from the immersive quality of the storyline. Instead of complementing the action sequences and heightening the sense of danger, the soundtrack seemed to clash with the on-screen events, diminishing the impact of key moments in the film.
