Synopsis

The Ice Storm is a novel by Rick Moody that tells the story of two dysfunctional families living in a wealthy Connecticut suburb during Thanksgiving weekend in 1973.

The Hood and Williams families are dealing with their own internal struggles and secrets, while also navigating the complexities of their relationships with each other.

As a severe ice storm hits the area, the families are forced to confront their issues and face the consequences of their actions.

The novel explores themes of alienation, infidelity, and the search for connection in a world that seems increasingly disconnected.

Through Moody's vivid prose and complex characters, the reader is taken on a journey of self-discovery and introspection.

Ultimately, The Ice Storm is a powerful and poignant exploration of the human condition and the ways in which we cope with the challenges of life.
