Synopsis

The Irish R.M. is a British television series based on the stories of Somerville and Ross. The show follows the life of Major Sinclair Yeates, a retired English army officer who becomes a Resident Magistrate in turn-of-the-century West Ireland.

As Yeates navigates the complexities of Irish rural life, he encounters a colorful cast of characters, including the eccentric Flurry Knox, the mischievous housekeeper Mrs. Cadogan, and the spirited landowner Philippa Riddell.

Throughout the series, Yeates must balance his duties as a magistrate with his desire to be accepted by the local community. His efforts are often met with humorous misunderstandings and cultural clashes, making for a charming and entertaining show.
