Synopsis

Deep in a fantastically barren wasteland lies a dilapidated circus tent. Inside, a sinister ringmaster forces his prized act, a true live siren, to perform for a group of grimy, working-class onlookers. The mermaid, though terrifying, is nothing more than a lovesick caged animal praying to be released from its endless torture. Unwilling to hand over his meal ticket, the ringmaster rejects his pleas for permission and continues to confine the mermaid in his stagnant tank. With nowhere to run, the mermaid must choose between clinging to the hope of freedom and ending her abuse of him. Produced by Samantha Jewell, Lindsey Mann, Justin Simon and Aliya Tarmo through the VFS Compendium series and directed by Nicholas Humphries (Riese: Kingdom Falling), The Little Mermaid is a twisted reimagining of Hans Christian Anderson's classic tale.
