Synopsis

The Treacherous is a historical drama film set in the Joseon Dynasty of Korea. The story follows the power struggle between King Yeonsan and his loyal subject, Im Soong-jae. Im Soong-jae is a trusted advisor to the king, but he secretly plots to overthrow him and take the throne for himself. As the tension between the two men escalates, betrayal and deception become the norm in the royal court. The film explores themes of loyalty, ambition, and the corrupting influence of power. Will Im Soong-jae succeed in his treacherous plans, or will his actions lead to his downfall?
