Synopsis

Banished from the bosom of their righteous pilgrim community, the troubled patriarch, William, and his Puritan family set out a humble farmhouse on the outskirts of a thick and dark forest, in mid-seventeenth-century New England.

As the struggling family tries to settle in their new isolated homestead, before long, disaster will strike when their infant child vanishes into thin air, and, shortly after, other unforeseen and grievous calamities smite the God-fearing farmers.

However, is this grave situation the result of a family on the brink of psychological breakdown, or is William's first-born daughter, Thomasin, the root of all evil?

Amanda Allen
7/10

Overall, the haunting and evocative score of The Witch elevates the film to a new level, immersing the audience in a world of fear and paranoia. It is a masterful example of how music can enhance the storytelling and create a truly unforgettable cinematic experience.

David Evans
5/10

On the other hand, some may find the repetitive nature of the soundtrack to be a bit monotonous. While it effectively sets the mood for the film, the lack of variation in musical themes can become tiresome after a while.

George Green
8/10

The soundtrack's dark and brooding melodies mirror the psychological breakdown of the family, adding depth and emotion to the narrative. The music becomes a character in itself, conveying the inner turmoil and fear of the characters.

Steven Thomas
8/10

The haunting and atmospheric music of The Witch perfectly captures the eerie and foreboding setting of the film. The use of strings and haunting vocals creates a sense of dread and unease that lingers long after the movie has ended.

Sarah Martin
