Traitor tells the story of Samir Horn, an American citizen and former soldier who is a firm believer in the Holy Quran. He lives a middle-classed lifestyle with his girlfriend, Chandra Dawkin, while actively involved in selling explosives to Jihadis.
While in a Yemeni prison, Samir is attacked and saved by another inmate named Omar. The two men become close friends, escape from prison, re-locate to France, and manage to elude authorities for some time.
Upon returning to the U.S., Samir and Omar meet with Fareed Mansour and Nathir to plan a terrorist attack involving placing bombs in 50 Greyhound buses, one for each State. Using modern sophisticated methods, the group recruits 50 volunteers to carry out the task, confident that they will not be stopped in time by U.S. authorities.
