Synopsis

Un eroe borghese is a novel written by Vincenzo Consolo. The story is set in Sicily during the 19th century and follows the life of a young man named Giuseppe Mancuso. Giuseppe is a member of the bourgeoisie, but he is also a revolutionary who fights against the oppressive ruling class.

One day, Giuseppe witnesses a brutal massacre carried out by the authorities, which prompts him to join the resistance movement. He becomes a hero among the common people, leading them in their fight for justice and equality.
