Synopsis

Rome is a historical drama television series created by John Milius, William J. MacDonald, and Bruno Heller. The show premiered on HBO in 2005 and ran for two seasons before being canceled due to high production costs.

The series is set in ancient Rome and follows the lives of two soldiers, Lucius Vorenus and Titus Pullo, as they navigate the political intrigue and power struggles of the Roman Republic. The show also features historical figures such as Julius Caesar, Mark Antony, and Cleopatra.

Rome received critical acclaim for its production values, writing, and performances, with many praising it as one of the best historical dramas ever made. Despite its short run, the show has gained a cult following and is considered a must-watch for fans of historical fiction.
