Synopsis

United States of Tara is a television series that follows the life of Tara Gregson, a suburban housewife and mother who suffers from dissociative identity disorder (DID).

Throughout the series, Tara navigates her daily life while switching between several different personalities, or "alters," including a rebellious teenager named T, a 1950s housewife named Alice, and a male Vietnam War veteran named Buck.

As Tara struggles to balance her various identities, her family, including her husband Max and their two children, must also cope with the challenges that come with living with someone who has DID.

The show explores themes of identity, mental health, and family dynamics as Tara and her loved ones try to understand and accept her condition.

The lack of original score or composition in the soundtrack of United States of Tara was disappointing. I believe a unique and evocative musical score could have added an extra layer of complexity and emotion to the show, but instead, the reliance on pre-existing songs fell short of creating a truly immersive viewing experience.
