First part: Andrea is a beautiful young woman who has heart disease but a great desire to live. A fashion designer, she designs a bridal gown for Raquela's wedding to Jose Manuel. But Raquela won't be wearing the gown; Jose Manuel finally realizes that he really loves Raquela's sister Angeles. Angeles loves him too but is sure that she loves in vain. Then Angeles dies in an accident at the same time Andrea has a heart attack. In the hospital, Angeles' heart is transplanted into Andrea to save her life. After Angeles' death, Jose becomes bitter--until he meets Andrea, not knowing that she has Angeles' heart. They must fight for their love and happiness among many obstacles, including Raquela, who can't stand that her sister's ghost has returned to steal Jose Manuel from her yet again. The first part of "Velo de Novia" ends with Jose Manuel being shot on his and Andrea's wedding day. Second part: After Jose Manuel's death, Andrea decides to move to the city with her mom, her best friend Vida, and her godsister Lidia. There she studies medicine as she works as a nurse. Her long-time enemy Raquela also moves to the city with her aunt and meets Jorge Robleto, Jose Manuel's double. They soon become a couple. One day, Jorge almost runs into Andrea as he's leaving work, and Andrea is stunned to see Jose Manuel's double. When Raquela finds out that Andrea is attracted to Jorge, she and her cousin Arturo will do anything to destroy it. But Andrea gets through it all with her best friend Vida and the ghost of Jose Manuel by her side, and Angeles' heart beating within her.
