Synopsis

Nightmare in Columbia County is a true crime television movie that tells the story of a woman named Laci Peterson who goes missing in Modesto, California. The police launch an investigation and soon discover that her husband, Scott Peterson, is the prime suspect.

The movie follows the events leading up to Laci's disappearance, including the couple's seemingly perfect marriage and Scott's affair with another woman. As the investigation unfolds, evidence begins to point towards Scott's guilt, and he is eventually arrested and charged with the murder of his wife and unborn child.

Throughout the trial, dramatic twists and turns keep the audience on the edge of their seats as the truth about what really happened to Laci Peterson is revealed. In the end, Scott Peterson is found guilty and sentenced to death, bringing closure to a tragic chapter in Columbia County's history.
