Wag the Dog is a satirical film that follows a spin doctor and a Hollywood producer who collaborate to distract the public from a presidential scandal. The president is accused of having an affair with a young girl just days before the election, and the two men must come up with a plan to divert attention away from the scandal.
They decide to create a fake war with Albania, complete with fake news reports and staged footage. The plan is successful, and the public is completely fooled by the fabricated war. However, as the election draws near, the two men must work even harder to maintain the illusion and ensure the president's victory.
Wag the Dog explores the power of media manipulation and the lengths to which people will go to maintain their image and hold onto power. It raises important questions about the role of the media in shaping public opinion and the ethics of using deception to achieve political goals.
