Synopsis

Watchmen is a graphic novel written by Alan Moore and illustrated by Dave Gibbons. It was first published in 1986 and is considered one of the greatest graphic novels of all time.

The story is set in an alternate history where superheroes exist and have helped the United States win the Vietnam War. However, in 1985, the government has outlawed costumed vigilantes, leading most of them to retire or work for the government.

The plot follows a group of retired superheroes who come out of retirement after one of their own, The Comedian, is murdered. As they investigate his death, they uncover a conspiracy that threatens the world.

Watchmen explores complex themes such as power, morality, and the nature of heroism. It also deconstructs the superhero genre, questioning the motivations and actions of traditional superheroes.

The graphic novel is known for its intricate storytelling, nonlinear narrative, and complex characters. It has been adapted into a film and a television series, both of which have received critical acclaim.

I found the Watchmen soundtrack to be disappointing and lackluster. The music did not effectively capture the dark and gritty atmosphere of the graphic novel.
