Synopsis

Ben Singer sees the glass half full... of polluted water. He bums out his co-workers at a dead-end job proof-reading at a law firm, his ex-wife who's remarried to a Hollywood exec, and his pre-teen daughter who can't handle the negativity. Only his flat-mate, Ibu, a Senegalese security guard, and the old guys at a music store where he jams on acoustic guitar enjoy his company. When Ibu goes into a diabetic coma, Ben invites Ibu's sister, Khadi, to stay with him while she visits her brother from Dakar. She tries to break through Ben's shell with the message that emotions can be magic. He keeps that door closed and may also lose his daughter's affection. Will he ever see possibility?

User reviews

Thomas Roberts
6/10

Overall, the soundtrack of Wonderful World is a poignant and evocative musical companion to the protagonist's emotional evolution, enhancing the viewer's experience and immersion in the story.

Amanda Smith
2/10

The overall composition and production of the soundtrack lack originality and creativity, making it forgettable and unremarkable. The music fails to leave a lasting impression or evoke any strong feelings, ultimately diminishing the overall viewing experience of the film.

Paul Parker
5/10

The use of acoustic guitar in several tracks adds a sense of raw emotion and vulnerability to the music, mirroring Ben's own struggles and inner conflicts.

Michelle Rodriguez
4/10

The soundtrack of Wonderful World fails to capture the emotional depth and complexity of the main character's journey. The music feels generic and uninspired, missing the opportunity to enhance the storytelling and connect with the audience on a deeper level.

Timothy Thompson
5/10

The incorporation of Senegalese music elements in certain pieces provides a unique cultural texture to the soundtrack, enhancing the storytelling and adding depth to the film's themes of connection and understanding.

Laura Allen
4/10

The choice of songs in the soundtrack often feels out of place and disconnected from the themes and mood of the film. Instead of complementing the narrative, the music sometimes distracts from the scenes and undermines the emotional impact of key moments.

John Allen
5/10

The soundtrack of Wonderful World perfectly captures the melancholic and introspective tone of the main character's journey through life.
