Synopsis

An ordinary woman is seen in a therapy session apparently in a residential facility and appears to be near getting discharged by the counselor. We see various scenes from her life, particularly a number of brief relationships with men, various attempts at auditions for various roles in plays, both with questionable results. At the same time, we eventually find out that her mother is supposedly a good actress but had a falling out with her and that put this woman in a residential facility.

The Director apparently to together with her lead star (whom she's known in real life from childhood), wrote up an in-depth biography of her character, and then interviewed her for ten hours prior to shooting the movie. All the dialogue in the movie is also improvised.

1/10

I found the use of music in the film to be distracting and overwhelming at times. Instead of complementing the story, the soundtrack often overshadowed the dialogue and visuals, making it difficult to fully engage with the narrative.

Robert Nelson
5/10

The revelation about the main character's mother being a good actress adds depth to the storyline, and the soundtrack reflects this complexity with its mix of melancholy and hope. The music brought an extra layer of depth to the emotional journey of the main character, making the film even more engaging.

Carol Brown

The repetitive use of certain musical motifs throughout the movie became tiresome and predictable. It felt like the filmmakers relied too heavily on a limited selection of tracks, resulting in a lack of variety and originality in the overall sound design of the film.

Stephanie Moore
