Sinopsis
La agente del FBI Natalia Chapin (Anika Noni Rose) y el abogado del Departamento de Justicia Jess Kinney (Shawn Hatosy) lideran una investigación de la División de Derechos Civiles del Departamento de Justicia sobre el brutal asesinato de un líder empresarial afroamericano en un pequeño pueblo de Ohio. Chapin, Kinney y su jefe Ochs Rainey (Tim Blake Nelson) se enfrentan a divisiones en la ciudad y su fuerza policial, todo ello provocado por Tom Berryman, un misterioso ex radical de los 70 empeñado en incitar a una guerra racial.
