Sinopsis
Una película sobre un hombre con una historia revolucionaria de Polonia de fondo. Edward Gierek es una de las figuras más importantes del siglo XX en la memoria colectiva de los polacos. A pesar de que está en la línea de notables como Juan Pablo II, Jozef Pilsudski o Lech Walesa, la industria cinematográfica aún no se ha fijado en él. Janusz Iwanowski y Jolanta Owczarczyk, productores, decidieron llenar este vacío. La película está ambientada en los años 1970-1982, cuando Edward Gierek se convierte en Primer Secretario del Comité Central del PZPR (Comité Central del Partido Polaco de los Trabajadores Unidos) hasta su internamiento. No será una película política. La audiencia verá a Edward Gierek detrás de escena de su poder político. Las relaciones familiares que nunca han visto la luz son parte esencial de esta historia. El rodaje estuvo precedido por meses de preparativos y ensayos con actores, así como transformaciones de apariencia.
