Sinopsis
Julia (Julie Cox), una niña inglesa que trabaja con un grupo de ayuda médica de una ONG en el Cáucaso, es secuestrada por bandidos para pedir rescate. Ella escapa a las montañas durante los primeros ataques del ejército ruso en Groznyy (1995) y es encontrada por un violinista kabardino pasando su verano en una cabaña de montaña. Los bandidos, engañando a las autoridades y a la embajada británica haciéndoles creer que ella está bajo su custodia, exigen un enorme rescate a la embajada británica. Mientras tanto, Ruslan (Andrey Chernichov), un violinista abatido, se ocupa de las heridas de Julia, y en la convivencia forzosa de la cabaña los dos jóvenes se dan cuenta de las grandes diferencias en sus culturas, creando así muchas discusiones y conflictos entre ellos.
