Formerly left wing Government Minister meets up with a former even more leftist compatriot in arms, his ex-lover / old flame for an evening of - inevitably / appropriately - 'undressed' illicit sexual encounter with constant political discussion, accusation and sparks.
Married Minister importantly arrives in Helsinki, capital of Finland, by helicopter to be confronted by press on next day's an important meeting in Copenhagen; on way to settle in for a night of preparation, he by chance passes a woman he recognises: she is an old flame, prior lover, who he quickly persuades to have a few drinks in a bar, and soon into trysting in one of Helsinki's best hotels (just down the road from the Parliament building): when they had their affair, they were both of the leftist persuasion, her quite more so, but it is him who has progressed so far in the party (Social Democrats): after the initial passion is re-ignited, she soon begins to abjure him for selling out their younger left wing idealism, eventually onto accusing him of 'male chauvinist' and sexist use her and desert her attitudes when he was an ambitious younger politico during their earlier affair, now being afraid of woman's essentialness: their nudity and sex.
Throughout the eve, they gradually disrobe (him completely, except most of the eve, for his tie still worn!), although not her so much - to her disappointment: all leads to a shock surprise denouement for the Minister's younger day's dalliance. The important Copenhagen meeting seems to be put on hold, and on the way, matters develop between them that indicate he should realise that perhaps he is not so important to the party.
