Synopsis

Toutes les trois, anciennement mariées mais maintenant célibataires, les meilleures amies sculpteuse Alex Medford, violoncelliste Jane Spofford et écrivaine Sukie Ridgemont se sentent émotionnellement et sexuellement réprimées, en grande partie en raison des mœurs traditionnelles qui dominent leur petite ville côtière de la Nouvelle-Angleterre, Eastwick.

Après leur dernière conversation se plaignant du manque d'hommes convenables à Eastwick et décrivant les qualités qu'elles recherchent chez un homme, le mystérieux Daryl Van Horne et son tout aussi mystérieux majordome Fidel arrivent en ville.

Malgré son caractère vulgaire, grossier, effronté et pas particulièrement beau, Daryl parvient à toucher les émotions les plus profondes des trois amies, et réussit ainsi à les séduire chacune. En retour, les trois femmes s'épanouissent émotionnellement et sexuellement.

Après un incident impliquant l'un des citoyens les plus en vue de la ville, l'ultra conservatrice Felicia Alden, les trois femmes commencent à comprendre comment et pourquoi Daryl est capable de les hypnotiser si complètement.

Les trois décident d'expérimenter certains pouvoirs appris indirectement de Daryl afin de pouvoir espérer reprendre le contrôle de leur propre vie.
