Synopsis
Kenya McQueen est une CPA afro-américaine à succès, qui gravit les échelons de l'entreprise, mais sa vie n'est plus qu'un travail et aucun jeu. Incitée par ses amis à essayer quelque chose de nouveau et à abandonner son rêve de "l'homme noir idéal", elle accepte un rendez-vous à l'aveugle avec un paysagiste en architecture nommé Brian, pour raccourcir le rendez-vous à première vue, car Brian est blanc . Les deux se rencontrent à nouveau lors d'une fête et Kenya engage Brian pour aménager sa nouvelle maison. Au fil du temps, ils se sont entendus, mais les réserves du Kenya quant à l'acceptation de leur romance parmi ses amis et sa famille menacent tout. Une comédie romantique intelligente qui choisit d'aborder les problèmes de race et de perception d'une manière directe, d'un point de vue rarement vu : celui d'une femme noire de la haute société à succès.
