Sinossi
Un piccolo ufficio di servizi sociali di metà del XX secolo è una stazione di transito per le anime dei recentemente defunti, dove vengono processate prima di entrare nel loro paradiso personale - un singolo ricordo felice rivissuto per l'eternità.
Ogni lunedì, un nuovo gruppo di persone recentemente decedute si registra e i "assistenti sociali" nella sede spiegano loro la situazione. Una volta che i neo-morti hanno identificato i loro ricordi più felici, i lavoratori progettano e replicano il ricordo scelto da ciascuna persona, che viene messo in scena e filmato.
Alla fine della settimana, i recentemente deceduti guardano i filmati dei loro ricordi più felici ricreati in una sala cinematografica. Appena ogni persona vede il proprio ricordo, scompare verso qualunque stato di esistenza si trovi oltre e porta con sé solo quel singolo ricordo.
La storia si concentra principalmente su due dei "consiglieri", Takashi (Arata) e Shiori (Oda). Takashi è stato incaricato di aiutare un anziano, Ichiro (interpretato da Naito Taketoshi), a selezionare il suo ricordo. Rivedendo il nastro video della vita di Ichiro, Takashi scopre che Ichiro aveva sposato la ex fidanzata di Takashi dopo che Takashi era stato ucciso durante la Seconda Guerra Mondiale.
Takashi fa assegnare Ichiro a un altro consulente, ma è comunque turbato dai suoi ricordi, causando sia a lui che alla sua quasi-interesse romantico Shiori di riesaminare le loro (dopo-) vite.
