Il gioco è in gran parte basato sul film. Bruce Wayne torna a Gotham City dopo diversi anni di scomparsa e di addestramento in Himalaya con la Lega delle Ombre. Indossando il cappuccio e il mantello di Batman, Bruce Wayne scopre i segreti di insolite spedizioni tossiche in polvere ai moli che conducono fino all'intrigante dottor Jonathan Crane, alias The Scarecrow. Ovviamente c'è molto di più di quanto Bruce / Batman si rendano conto.
