Sinopse

Dr. Constance Petersen é vista por seus colegas masculinos em Green Manors, um hospital psiquiátrico no interior de Vermont, como uma princesa de gelo por se dedicar ao trabalho em detrimento de uma vida social ativa. Isso muda com a chegada do Dr. Anthony Edwardes, o novo chefe de equipe que substitui o Dr. Murchison, que se aposentou precocemente devido ao esgotamento. Com uma faísca imediata entre os dois além de sua especialidade ser casos de complexo de culpa, dos quais ela tem um caso atualmente preocupante, Petersen e Edwardes admitem seus sentimentos românticos um pelo outro. Mas logo em seguida, Petersen percebe em Edwardes alguns sinais perturbadores de que ele também está sofrendo algum tipo de colapso mental, gatilhos para ele aparentemente a cor branca especialmente com linhas paralelas escuras contra ela. Enquanto ela tenta ajudá-lo a recuperar sua memória parcialmente através da psicanálise, eles têm que esconder o que está acontecendo dos outros especialmente porque ele acredita que pode ter assassinado alguém.
