Sinopse
Em meados da década de 1980, três mulheres (cada uma com um advogado) chegam ao escritório do gerente de entretenimento de Nova York, Morris Levy. Um é um cantor de Los Angeles, ex-The Platters; um é um ladrão mesquinho da Filadélfia; um é professor de segundo grau em uma pequena cidade da Geórgia. Cada uma afirma ser a viúva do falecido cantor e compositor doo-wop Frankie Lyman, e cada uma quer anos de royalties devido à sua propriedade, dinheiro que Levy nunca compartilhou. Durante um julgamento civil que se seguiu, flashbacks contam a história da vida de cada um com Lyman, um jovem, agitado e dinâmico artista, perdido para a heroína.
