Sinopse
O Capitão Olimar é um intrépido viajante espacial do planeta Hocotate. Em seu navio, o Dolphin Olimar recupera itens e materiais preciosos para seu mundo natal. Em uma viagem, no entanto, um meteoro atinge sua nave, forçando-o a um pouso forçado em um mundo misterioso. Pedaços do Golfinho são espalhados quando ele cai e, embora Olimar sobreviva, a situação é sombria. As baterias de seu sistema de suporte de vida morrerão em trinta dias, após os quais ele estará à mercê da atmosfera tóxica de oxigênio do planeta. Mas pode haver esperança: logo após sua chegada, Olimar descobre estranhas criaturas chamadas Pikmin, que obedecem a seus comandos depois que ele as arranca do chão. Com a ajuda deles, Olimar trabalha para coletar as peças vitais de seu navio para que ele possa voltar para casa em segurança.
