The Juggler of Notre Dame
Once upon a time, in a small village in France, there lived a humble juggler named Barnaby. He traveled from town to town, entertaining people with his juggling skills. One day, Barnaby arrived at the grand cathedral of Notre Dame in Paris. He decided to perform for the monks and nuns who lived there, hoping to earn some food and shelter for the night.
As Barnaby juggled his balls and clubs, the monks and nuns watched in amazement. They had never seen such skill and precision before. But when Barnaby finished his performance, the monks and nuns turned away, unimpressed. They had no food or shelter to offer him, so they sent him away.
Feeling dejected, Barnaby sat outside the cathedral, wondering what to do next. Suddenly, he heard a voice calling his name. It was the Virgin Mary, who appeared to him in a vision. She told Barnaby that his juggling had brought joy to her heart, and she offered him a place to stay in the cathedral.
Grateful for the Virgin Mary's kindness, Barnaby stayed at Notre Dame and continued to juggle for her. He performed every day, bringing joy to the hearts of the monks and nuns. And when he passed away, the Virgin Mary took his soul to heaven, where he juggled for her for all eternity.
