Synopsis

Above the Rim is a 1994 American sports drama film directed by Jeff Pollack. The movie follows the story of a talented high school basketball player named Kyle-Lee Watson, who is torn between his loyalty to a drug dealer and his dream of playing college basketball.

As Kyle-Lee navigates the challenges of his inner-city environment, he must also deal with the pressures of his coach, who pushes him to succeed on the court. Along the way, Kyle-Lee forms a bond with a former basketball star named Birdie, who becomes a mentor to him and helps him navigate the complexities of life in the streets.

As the film builds to a climactic showdown on the basketball court, Kyle-Lee must make a choice between loyalty and ambition, between the streets and the court. Will he be able to rise above the rim and achieve his dreams, or will he be pulled back down by the forces of his environment?
