Faced with poverty and violence encircling their homes, Achilleas and Thomas summon up the courage to abandon the snows of Albania. Determined to wipe the slate clean and create a new future for themselves, the two men cross the Greek-Albanian border, heading to Athens' melting pot, the bustling Omonoia Square. But as the impecunious companions cross paths with orphaned 10-year-old Nikos, the dream soon turns into a nightmare filled with prejudice, hunger, and racism.
