Synopsis

Being Flynn follows the story of Nick Flynn, a young man in his 20s who is still trying to find his place in the world and aspires to become a writer.

Around the same time that Nick starts working at a homeless shelter in Boston, his father, Jonathan, who sees himself as a great writer and has been absent from Nick's life for years, suddenly reaches out to him.

A few months later, Jonathan, who is now down-and-out, shows up at Nick's shelter and becomes a resident there. This unexpected reunion throws Nick off balance, especially given Jonathan's confrontational behavior.

As Nick grapples with his memories of his mother, his growing relationship with a co-worker, and his own inner struggles, he begins to question whether he is destined to follow in his father's footsteps.

Will Nick be able to overcome these challenges and forge his own path, or is he doomed to repeat the mistakes of his father?
