Synopsis

Jamshid Heidari's film Border (Marz) is an important film in the history of Iranian cinema. It is the first fictional film made a few months after the start of the war. It's like a John Ford movie where a small group of civilians represent the nation to fight the enemy. Heydari elaborate a kind of representation of the Iranian nation at war, just after the revolution. He also questioned who is the enemy and who is the national community. It is a very complex film.
