In the 1960s, Puerto Rican Carlito Brigante, African-American Earl, and Italian Rocco become best friends while in prison. When they are released, Rocco brokers a heroin deal with an Italian mafia family led by Artie Badalato. Mr. Carlito negotiates with Mr. Leroy "Hollywood Nicky" Barnes the area where the trio could operate in his neighborhood and before the three friends will be convinced powerful. Later, Carlito goes out and has an affair with the beautiful Leticia. When Earl decides to move to Barbados with his girlfriend and quit the heroin business, his stupid younger brother causes a situation with Italian mobsters, and Carlito and Rocco have to sort out the mess to save their lives.
