Choke is a dark comedy film based on the novel of the same name by Chuck Palahniuk. The story follows Victor Mancini, a sex addict who works as a historical reenactor at a colonial theme park. Victor's mother is in a nursing home suffering from dementia, and he resorts to choking in restaurants to scam money from wealthy patrons who feel sorry for him.
Victor's life takes a turn when he meets a doctor named Paige Marshall, who believes she can cure him of his addiction. As Victor struggles to come to terms with his past and his present, he must confront his own demons and find a way to break free from his destructive behavior.
Choke explores themes of addiction, family, and redemption in a darkly humorous way. The film is a thought-provoking look at the lengths people will go to in order to cope with their pain and find a sense of purpose in their lives.
