Photographer Rebecca Barnes [Susan Dey] is a vampire, turned by a vampire lover who promised her 'forever' but then killed himself by standing in the sunlight. Save for her assistant Elliot [Eric Peterson], a research scientist who has decided to devote his life to her, Rebecca lives a lonely life moving from city to city every couple years. Several suspicious homicides (knife wound on neck, no blood, no defensive wounds, reports of a tall blonde) have peaked the interest of Detective Sean O'Connor [Stephen McHattie]. When a photograph of one of the victims turns up, he tracks down the photographer...Rebecca Barnes...and they promptly fall in love. While Rebecca and Sean make steamy love, the homicides continue. Slowly but surely, the clues point O'Connor in Rebecca's direction. He suspects but he isn't sure until he follows her one night and sees her proposition and leave with guy who shows up moments later floating dead in a pool of water. Sean confronts Rebecca. She tells him the truth about herself. He asks her to make him a vampire so they can go away together. She refuses and leaves town.
