Synopsis

Deadpool 2 is a movie about Wade Wilson, who has been working as the mercenary Deadpool for two years. On his anniversary with his girlfriend Vanessa, he fails to kill one of his targets. Unfortunately, that same night, the target tracks Wilson down and kills Vanessa. In revenge, Wilson kills the man but blames himself for Vanessa's death.

Feeling guilty, Wilson attempts to commit suicide by blowing himself up six weeks later. However, he has a vision of Vanessa in the afterlife. Even though his body is in pieces, Colossus manages to put him back together. Wilson is left with only a Skee-Ball token, an anniversary gift from Vanessa.

Recovering at the X-Mansion, Wilson reluctantly agrees to join the X-Men as a way to heal. Alongside Colossus and Negasonic Teenage Warhead, they respond to a standoff involving the young mutant Russell Collins, also known as Firefist, at an orphanage labeled a "Mutant Reeducation Center."
