Don't Worry, He Won't Get Far on Foot is a poignant and insightful drama based on a true story. After Portland slacker John Callahan (Joaquin Phoenix) survives a life-threatening car accident, he struggles with his drinking problem. Despite his initial reluctance, he enters treatment with the support of his girlfriend (Rooney Mara) and a charismatic sponsor (Jonah Hill).
During his recovery, Callahan discovers a talent for drawing edgy and irreverent newspaper cartoons. These cartoons gain a national following and provide him with a new lease on life. Directed by two-time Oscar® nominee Gus Van Sant, this film explores the healing power of art and is adapted from Callahan's autobiography.
The cast includes Jack Black, Carrie Brownstein, Beth Ditto, and Kim Gordon, adding depth to this funny and inspiring story of redemption and self-discovery.
