Synopsis

Earthsea is a world of one thousand and one islands, where priestesses led by the High Priestess Thar guard the tomb of Atuan from the diabolic Nameless Ones.

However, the ambitious King Tygath seeks to unite the realm and release the demons to learn their secret of immortality. He uses his mistress Kossil to poison Thar, hoping to take control. Kossil expects to be named the next guardian and gain the keys and enchantment that keep the dark forces at bay.

Thar, however, chooses the pure Tenar to take her place as guardian. Meanwhile, on the island of Gont, Ged, the reckless and rebellious son of a blacksmith, dreams of becoming a wizard. He is sent to the island of Roke to learn magic, but a dispute with a corrupt mate leads him to accidentally summon a powerful Nameless One known as The Gebbeth, who seeks to devour his soul.

Now, Ged must follow the guidance of a dragon and find the two parts of an amulet to destroy the Nameless Ones and survive.
