Synopsis

Evil Under the Sun follows the investigation led by Hercule Poirot (Sir Peter Ustinov) for an insurance company. The case involves a dead woman's body found on a moor and a fake diamond sent for insurance.

Poirot discovers that the diamond was purchased for Arlena Marshall (Dame Diana Rigg) by Sir Horace Blatt (Colin Blakely). Arlena is on her honeymoon with her husband and stepdaughter at a Mediterranean island hotel. Poirot decides to join them on the island.

As Poirot investigates, he uncovers that many people have reasons to dislike Arlena. She refuses to do a stage show, stops a book, and openly has an affair with Patrick Redfern (Nicholas Clay) in front of his wife. It's not long before Arlena is found dead, strangled.

Poirot must now determine who the killer is among the guests at the hotel.
