Synopsis

Hara-Kiri: Death of a Samurai is a Japanese film directed by Takashi Miike. The story follows a samurai named Hanshiro Tsugumo who arrives at the doorstep of a feudal lord's estate, requesting to commit hara-kiri (ritual suicide) in their courtyard.

However, the lord tells him a tragic tale of another samurai who had recently made the same request, only to be forced to go through with it.

As Hanshiro begins to unravel the truth behind this samurai's death, he seeks to avenge his honor and bring justice to those responsible.
