Synopsis

"Heroine Disqualified" is a Japanese romantic comedy film that follows the story of Hatori, a high school girl who has been in love with her childhood friend, Rita, for years. However, when she finally musters up the courage to confess her feelings to him, she is rejected. To make matters worse, Rita starts dating Hatori's best friend, Miho.

Feeling heartbroken and betrayed, Hatori decides to reinvent herself as a "heroine" in order to win Rita's heart. She enlists the help of Kosuke, a popular and handsome boy at school, to help her become the perfect girlfriend material. As Hatori goes through various transformations and challenges, she begins to question her true feelings and what it means to be a heroine.

As the story unfolds, Hatori must navigate the complexities of love, friendship, and self-discovery. Will she be able to win Rita's heart, or will she realize that true love may have been right in front of her all along?
