Synopsis

Every celebrity deals with his or her share of obsessed fans. "I Think We're Alone Now" is a documentary that focuses on two individuals, Jeff and Kelly, who claim to be in love with the 80's pop singer Tiffany.

Jeff Turner, a 50-year-old man from Santa Cruz, California has attended Tiffany concerts since 1988. Diagnosed with Asperger's syndrome, he never had a girlfriend. Jeff spends his days hanging out on the streets of Santa Cruz, striking up conversations with anyone who has a moment to spare.

Kelly McCormick is a 38-year-old hermaphrodite from Denver, Colorado, who claims to have been friends with Tiffany as a teenager. She credits Tiffany as the shining star who has motivated her to do everything in her life.

Both Jeff and Kelly have been labeled stalkers by the media and other Tiffany fans. This film takes you inside the lonely lives these two characters, revealing the source of their clinging obsessions. This age-old story of unrequited love takes a comedic and emotional trip through themes of desperation, isolation, and hope, in the end showing that having something, or someone, to believe in can be more powerful than anything reality has to offer.

6/10

The use of music in I Think We're Alone Now showcases the power of a well-curated soundtrack in elevating the overall viewing experience, eliciting both empathy and understanding towards Jeff and Kelly.

Betty Taylor
7/10

The soundtrack of I Think We're Alone Now is a perfect blend of nostalgic 80's pop music that complements the story of Jeff and Kelly's obsession with Tiffany.

Richard Phillips
7/10

The soundtrack captures the essence of the time period, transporting the audience back to the 80's and immersing them in the world of Jeff and Kelly's unrequited love for Tiffany.

Mark King
1/10

The songs featured in the documentary seemed outdated and out of touch with the modern audience. While the 80's pop music may have been relevant to the time period of Tiffany's fame, it did not resonate well with viewers who were looking for a more contemporary and relatable soundtrack.

Nancy Hall
6/10

The soundtrack strikes a balance between nostalgic 80's pop tunes and introspective instrumental pieces, creating a compelling sonic landscape for the audience to immerse themselves in.

Deborah Campbell
6/10

The emotional weight of the film is beautifully complemented by the soundtrack, which expertly underscores the themes of unrequited love, loneliness, and the human need for connection.

Margaret Campbell
6/10

The music choices in the documentary effectively enhance the storytelling, adding depth and resonance to the struggles and obsessions of the main characters.

Kimberly Rodriguez
2/10

The music choices in the film did not effectively enhance the emotional impact of the scenes. Instead of complementing the stories of Jeff and Kelly, the soundtrack often felt disconnected, failing to create a deeper connection with the audience.

Donna Hall
5/10

The soundtrack of I Think We're Alone Now perfectly captures the emotional journey of Jeff and Kelly, blending elements of hope, desperation, and isolation seamlessly.

Anthony Martinez
8/10

The music choices in the documentary enhance the emotional journey of the characters, adding depth and resonance to their stories.

Donna Clark
1/10

The soundtrack of I Think We're Alone Now felt repetitive and lacked variety. The same songs seemed to be playing in the background throughout the entire documentary, making it monotonous and uninspiring.
