Synopsis

In 1980, Fox searched for a way to raise awareness for cancer research. His own struggle with the disease had resulted in the amputation of his right leg. Despite that handicap, Fox set out from the Atlantic coast of Canada with the ambition to tour the entire country, from coast to coast. By the middle of the trip he had become a national hero. remaining, Fox was forced to drop out of his career due to a recurrence of cancer that took his life at twenty-three. In the film, we hear from Fox's family and friends, intertwined with rich archival footage. They provide an inside story that makes us understand Fox as a human being, rather than just a symbol.
