Jack's life takes a turn when he meets Connie, a shy and introverted woman who works at the same company. The two form a connection and decide to go on a double date with Jack's best friend Clyde and his wife Lucy.

As Jack prepares for the date, he decides to take swimming lessons in order to impress Connie, who loves swimming. However, Jack's lack of experience in the water leads to some comical mishaps. Despite this, Connie is charmed by Jack's efforts and the two begin to grow closer.

Meanwhile, Clyde and Lucy's marriage begins to unravel, putting a strain on Jack and Connie's budding relationship. Jack must navigate his own insecurities and fears in order to find happiness with Connie.
