Synopsis

"The Last Song" follows the story of Ronnie (Miley Cyrus) and her younger brother, Jonah, whose parents are divorced. They are sent to live with their father (Greg Kinnear) in a small town on the beach for the summer.

Ronnie initially resents her father and has no intention of being friendly or even talking to him. However, after meeting a handsome guy and starting to fall in love, Ronnie begins to rediscover her love for music, something she shares with her father.

Reconnecting with music revives a kinship with her father, which turns out to be the most important relationship she may ever experience.

Susan Turner
8/10

The soundtrack of The Last Song beautifully captures the emotional journey of Ronnie and her family, enhancing every scene with its poignant melodies and heartfelt lyrics.

Thomas Johnson
2/10

The songs in The Last Song seem disconnected from the narrative, making it difficult for the audience to fully immerse themselves in the story. The lack of cohesion between the music and the plot results in a disjointed viewing experience, where the soundtrack feels like an afterthought rather than a crucial element of the film.

Michelle Wright

While the film revolves around themes of family, love, and reconciliation, the soundtrack of The Last Song missed the mark in evoking the necessary emotions. The music choices feel cliché and at times out of place, diminishing the impact of key scenes in the movie.
